An Innovative Virtual Archaeological Museum Opens in Ercolano
The new Virtual Archeological Museum of Ercolano is just a few steps away from the famous archaeological site and is built on three levels of 1500 sqm each. It avails itself of innovative technology such as laser, virtual reality, scanner, holograms and three-dimensional screens.
Visitors are able to relive real situations from ancient Roman times, rebuild mosaics, and touch the water of the baths of the rich aristocratic villas.
Urban environments have been rebuilt exactly as they were at the time of the tragic destruction of Herculaneum and Pompeii by the Vesuvio.
Sounds and voices guide each and every spectator, who has the possibility to experiment the different temperatures of the places as well as their smell.
