Posted on September 24th, 2008

The celebrations take place over the stunning Place Djemaa el-Fna – Marrakech’s central square – which is transformed into a massive open air cinema.

This celebration of international film has drawn in more than a fair share of stars in the past, including famous directors Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola and David Lynch, as well as actress Susan Sarandon and actor Colin Farrell.

A vast array of films have also used the beautiful backdrop of Marrakech from the Hitchcock’s 1956 remake of his own The Man Who Knew Too Much to the upcoming November release Body of Lies, Ridley Scott’s latest epic starring Russell Crowe and Leonardo DiCaprio.
